The greyhound hotel ,famous westmorland hostlery ,if you are planning to dine at the greyhound it is advisable to book in advance as it gets very busy especially at weekends. An extensive menu with a specials board changing daily, menu includes the likes of haddock in beer batter,lasagna ,steak and ale pie and many many more main courses (full menu can be seen on their website below) .The greyhound has up to 8 real ales ,guest ales from brewers such as keswick,fullers,dent,tirril hartleys,marston moor,derwent brewery & many more ..there are also fosters ,heineken on draught as well as strongbow. The pub has a reputation for real ales having won a camra award twice,
Meals are served between 12-14.00 and 18.00-21.00 .Though the bar is open all day.

the kings arms
The kings arms hotel ,totally refurbished a few years ago, the kings does food at fantastic prices and you get a decent helping, also does a sunday roast on sunday lunchtimes .
The bar area is spacious and all sky sports are shown on various screens, at the rear there is a large beer garden ideal for those sunny shap days !! pool ,darts,table football and jukebox. Live bands play most months (see in pub for details)
