 shap swimming pool opened for the season on may bank holiday weekend.

 shap history society -the homesteads of mardale exhibition every weekend from the 1st of may ,saturdays 11.00 -16.00 ,sundays 13.00 -16.00 ,admission £1.50 ,for more details see link to history society on contacts page.

age concern -tai chi on tuesday mornings in the memorial hall 10.15-11.15 ,£3.50 a session .

youth club -fridays, memorial hall .juniors 7pm-8.15pm, seniors 8.15- 9pm , subs £1 per session . there are no membership fees due thanks to funding from young cumbria.
     yoga - mondays 7pm -9pm ,£7 per class , memorial hall.

 (Shap CDC is based in the Shap Endowed C of E Primary School building in the centre of Shap by the pedestrian crossing. The CDC entrance is on the right at the front of the building. Please ring the bell there.)

kendal calling

Despite the name this popular music festival is actually held about 5 miles north of shap at lowther park . To be held on the weekend of 30 jul - 1 aug 2010,calvin harris is headlining friday night ,the doves on saturday and the coral on sunday ,also on the bill are badly drawn boy ,stereo mcs and local favourites british sea power ,more details on this years event soon . website address - www.kendalcalling.com
